This fine early 19th-century Napoleonic period French military print is entitled GENERAL DE DIVISION o7, COMENDANT DE LA LEGON D HONNEUR.
This hand coloured superbly detailed early print depicts a soldier dressed in an elaborate uniform standing next to his warhorse who is also superbly dressed with an elaborate bridal, saddle and saddle cloth and also has a protective armoured muzzle. This decorative print has been finely hand coloured in watercolour and highlighted on the elaborate areas of the tunic, hat and saddle cloth in gold leaf.
