Dimensions:
This larger sized Staffordshire pottery model of an English country estate foley type of cottage is of a most unusual design. The centre is circular and three storeys, with a rectangular wing to each side. The extended roof forms a canopy across the sides, which are supported on twisted columns. The cottage has gothic style windows, and three of these have been pierced through to let light shine through in a most realistic manner from a candle which can be placed into a small opening in the back making this novel cottage glow at night. Minor glazing cracks and paint loss.
English, circa 1860
