This rare early example from the vibrant and rustic Italian pottery works which was established in 1921 by Luigi Zortea in Bassano del Grappa Vicenze Province.  It is beautifully hand painted with a central portrait of a male partridge standing in low undergrowth. It is painted onto a white pie crust shaped and slightly dished wall charger and has a border of fruit, flowers and foliage around its shaped rim which Is finished with a blue pin striped edge. The border decoration is typical of this ware but the partridge is rare and eye catching.  The charger has the early 1920s impressed mark with hand painted artists initials B.C. The reverse of the charger has its two original holes to house a cord for hanging
