This rare and fine example is high in Regency style. It stands on short sabre legs which have recessed panels with gilt brass mounts and original casters with tapered square cups. Along the front of the chaise there is a fluted and panelled show wood frieze which is also enhanced with decorative gilt bronze mounts. This frieze also follows the profile of the serpentine back rest and the curled foot support. The shaped back is also finished with mahogany show wood which terminates in an intricate scroll to compliment the foot support. This fine piece has been beautifully reupholstered all over in deep buttoned tan hide finished with a brass individually hand nailed boarder. There is in addition a cylindrical lumbar cushion which not only adds style but also makes this highly decorative piece very comfortable. A stunning piece of Regency furniture in very good useable condition.
