The brooch is most likely Portuguese in origin and is delicately hand crafted in fine silver filigree, with an 0.800 silver mark. The intricate wings have a warm gilt finish and are beautifully hand decorated with vibrant enamels in shades of blue, purple, pale green and dark green. The combination of finely worked filigree, gilded silver and vivid enamel gives this charming butterfly brooch an exceptionally lively and decorative appearance.
