This rare cream jug dates to circa 1795 and is Liverpool porcelain. John Pennington/Herculaneum. It is of flattened octagonal form with a flared spout and shaped handle. It has a white porcelain ground and is decorated around the top edge with a continuous brown leaf styled boarder with a dotted red band above and a blue one below. The lower front in brightly hand painted with a spray of flowers, leaves and stems. The sides and reverse are in a similar style simply painted with flower and leaf designs. This piece is in good original condition.
