This rare and highly decorative 19th century Black Forest wall mounted spoon rack is most amusing.  It is beautifully hand carved in solid lime wood which is renowned for it crisp carving qualities and displays a group of devilish heads each with a different expression which relates to the seven deadly sins known to mankind – pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. Each head is mounted onto a timber frame with metal wall mounts. In between each head there is a carved and tapered cylindrical slot into which a spoon will fit and hang. Ideal for displaying a collection of interesting spoons or just as a decorative object.
