This cheeky little fellow is most amusing and great fun dating to circa 1910 and the following the influence of the Martin Brothers grotesque creatures.  He is a French bronze inkwell with two pen holders as ears.  He is basically a bearded head with legs and a tail, pixie type ears a nose and broad smiling mouth with hair and a forehead beak. The top of his head is hinged and lifts up to reveal the inkwell which has an early form of composite bakelite as a liner which is removable. A very fascinating and curious bronze, well cast with good detail and the condition is excellent and original.
