This splendid mid 19th century bronze study was sculpted by the noted French artist Joseph Victor Chemin (1825 – 1901) and captures a fine study of an elegant and muscular greyhound. He is standing with one foot raised whilst attentively grooming his flank. This bronze has fine detail throughout. It is mounted on an oval moulded bronze base with a decorative scrolled design across the top. In good condition, with a dark greenish-brown patination.
