This very realistic Austrian Vienna cold painted bronze study is a very pleasing example and is beautifully modelled. It shows the male capercaillie in full breeding plumage displaying to find a female with which to mate. This rare and exotic bird can still be found in the Scottish highlands. This fine bronze study is very detailed both in its modelling and also it's fine cold painted decoration which is very accurate and realistic in colour. This sculpture is fully signed on the underside of the tail with the factory name of Geschutzi and the model number. In excellent original condition. Circa 1900
