This rare English high-quality George III serpentine-shaped Pembroke Table is veneered in wonderfully figured mahogany which is also cross banded around each edge of the top and the folding leaves and when lifted are supported by hinged lopers. To one end there is a drawer with its original fancy swan-necked handle. The slender turned legs have a fine carved and beaded collar at the top and are fluted throughout their length and are terminated with finely carved acanthus feet with original low brass castors. This fine George III table closely relates to a Chippendale design of this period and is correct in its quality. Circa 1770.
