This very fine porcelain vase dates to the mid-19th century and was made at the Thun porcelain works Klosterle Bohemia Austria. It is of an elegant form with twin handles and a tall flared neck. This fine vase is superbly decorated with intricately detailed gilding in burnished and matt gold. On the front, there is an incredibly well detailed and finely hand painted street scene with multiple buildings and people and in the foreground a horse drawn carriage. This is some of the finest miniature painting I have ever seen. It has an elaborate gilt surround with a title at its base. The rear of the vase is decorated with a fine hand-painted floral display. The vase retains its original ormolu raised stand. Overall this piece is in excellent condition with almost no wear to the gilding. The only small fault is a small stress ficher on the reverse of the vase on the low section of the neck slightly above the handle as shown in the photographs. This vase is rare and of such high quality, I would still feel it would be a fine addition to a good collection or home.
