This delightful bronze depicts a semi-nude boy wearing only a fur loincloth and rustic hat whilst playing a homemade stick flute. It is beautifully modeled with great detail to the face hand and feet. It is finished with two-tone original patination. The figure is a reddish-brown and hat and loincloth has a greenish tone. It was created by the famous French sculptor, Marcel Debut (1865- 1933)
Signed on the naturalistic base and also titled on the front edge. Sous Bois. This bronze is in excellent original condition, Circa 1895
