This beautiful late 19th century Minton’s cabinet plate is hand-painted with fine detail and shows a delightful central scene depicting a family of robins. There are three fledging’s and two-parent birds perched on golden ears of corn. This fine work is entitled by the artist AHW. Beyond this central scene, there is a raised and gilded boarder of holly leaves and berries. This decorative plate is then finished with a moulded and pierced royal blue boarder decorated with white leafy scrolls and very detailed panels of gilt foliage. This plate is in very good condition with hardly any sign of rubbing and wear. There is one small scratch on the blue boarder and some tiny stress fissures between two or three of the pierced holes. They can only be seen when looking carefully at the back of the plate and are not structural defects. Both of these points are carefully shown in the photographs. Overall, a superb plate with no restoration. Circa 1875
