This marvelous large scale bronze sculpture was modelled by the famous 19th-century artist, Henri Honore Ple (1852 – 1922) and depicts a male agricultural worker casting seed from his apron on to the field. He is dressed in typical clothing of the time with fine detail throughout. This impressive bronze is cast in two parts, the figure and a separate revolving circular moulded plinth which allows this heavy piece to easily be rotated for different viewing positions.
This impressive piece is in good condition and has a mid brown patination. Circa 1880 £3800
