This most impressive and large scale bronze sculpture is a Grand Tour reduction of the famous huge Venitian bronze which stands in front of the Scuola of San Marco, Venice which was sculpted by Verrocchio in 1480 -88 and depicts Bartolomeo Colleoni on horseback. He sits astride his magnificent horse who is dressed in very elaborate and highly detailed decorative bridal and he himself is wearing equally fine armour. The quality of this bronze sculpture is outstanding. It is superbly cast and finished with fine hand chasing to give extra detail and crispness. It has a mid-brown patination. And this most luxurious piece is in excellent condition.
