A remarkable pair of mid 19th French oval plaques cast in pure white plaster.
The plaster is hand carved in such great detail creating a three dimensional incredibly complicated scenes. One plaque depicts a medieval battle field and the second plaque depicts a medieval pageant with over a hundred individual people . Both plaques are signed Justin which is cast into the plaster. They are also signed in pencil and dated 1850 on the lower edge.
Both plaques are in their original oval ebonised wooden frames and are in good original condition.
