A rare hand coopered English oak bucket traditionally made and bound in copper held in place with rivets and screws.
This bucket was made to commemorate the coronation of George VI in 1936. It is hand painted with his crown and cypher. The bucket is superbly made. It has a hinged solid copper handle and a fitted galvanised steel liner. They are both in good condition with some age related wear.
This superb bucket was probably made for coal but could be easily used as a wine cooler or an indoor planter.
