A delightful early 18th century figured walnut chest of drawers with a brushing slide.
The piece has a rich honey colour with a good figured grain. It stands on small shaped bracket feet which are mounted on to a short grained moulding at the base with two long and short drawers above which are veneered in book matched figured timber with herringbone stringing on the edge. The parting rails are all cross banded as well as the front of the oak brushing slide. All of the handles, escutcheons and locks are original. The top is veneered in figured walnut with a wide cross banding and herringbone stringing to match the drawers and is finished with a short grained moulded edge. The sides are also book matched and fitted with carrying handles.
