A very stylish pair of fine quality early 20th century Regency style ebonized and gilt library chairs. These superb early 20th century chairs are copies of very elegant regency examples. They are correct in every detail and have been made in a good workshop probably to match existing pieces. The frames are made in mahogany. They have stylish saber legs front and back with shaped hand made brass casters. The frames are beautifully detailed with carved and fluted decoration to most surfaces which have been gilded to emphasize the detail. The chairs have woven caned panels to the seats, backs, and arms which are in very good serviceable condition. These stunning chairs are finished to a high standard with buttoned leather cushions and arm pads. These chairs are in excellent structural condition. The painted and gilt decoration shows some age-related wear and patination but offers a very pleasing appearance.
A rare opportunity to acquire a very stylish pair of library chairs at a fraction of the cost of originals.
