This superbly detailed German porcelain figure group depicts a group of three young putti wrestling with an obstinate billy goat. They are trying to drag, push, and ride him along whilst also carrying bunches of fine grapes. This beautiful and richly hand-painted figure group is set onto a naturalistic base which is finished with a rococo style moulded foliate scrolls and swags highlighted in gilt. In excellent condition with no restoration.
On the underside, it has the late 19th century mark for the German Hochst factory. Circa 1900
