These beautifully turned hardwood folding cups are rare and difficult to produce.
They date to the late 19th century and are most likely made from laburnum wood and have undoubtedly been made by the same hand. One is larger and incorporates 5 folding sections and the other is smaller having 4 folding sections. They are both in good order, one has a small shrinkage crack in the foot but with no loses and have a good original patination and colour.
