Oil On Canvas Lake District View Of The River Derwent By W R Jennings, 1969

A beautifully captured Lake District view of the mountains with the River Derwent in the foreground with lush woodland to each side and a central scene with two girls bringing four horses to the river for water on a hot summer day. The artist, WR Jennings, has caught the light and clarity of the water and the Lake District atmosphere very well.
WR Jennings was a prominent midlands artist painter working mainly from the 1960s until the late 1990s. His work was sort after and sold by many galleries. This piece was sold by Blakedown Galleries near Kidderminster. It is presented it its original hand made swept frame and has its title and gallery stamp on the reverse.
