This is a beautiful example of an Italian glass maker's art. It is from the Murano factory and is a complex and most eye caching paperweight. In its centre is a very fine and colourful millefiori cane roundel and radiating from below it from the top to the bottom is an alternating display of twisting ribbons in differing rich colours each highlighted with a bronze metallic edge which glistens when offered to the light. Separating this colourful twist is an alternate ribbon of white, latticino. This dazzling paperweight is in excellent condition. It shows only light wear to the base with two or three tiny edge nicks in keeping with its age and usage. Italian, circa 1930
