This delightful pair of Indian Raj period decorative birds depict two parrots with their heads turned looking in the opposite direction over their shoulders. Their beaks and eyes are inlaid in a lighter coloured horn. This pleasing pair of birds are well carved in a primitive fashion and further enhanced by being raised and mounted onto original moulded square hardwood stands. All are in good original condition with pleasing colour and patination. Circa 1890
