This most eye catching fine large cloisonné lidded ginger jar dates to the mid 20th century and is a true work of art.  It is completely covered in a multitude of exotic flowers mainly peonies in rich vibrant colours over a dark ground. The enamelling has been exquisitely done with many petals graduating not only in tone but also in colour showing great skill from the artist. The palette of colours has been restricted to white, blues and turquoise with bursts of bright red and orange to small elements giving most striking eye appeal to this most unusual piece. The underside has the enamelled factory or artists mark also worked in cloisonne. The lid is unusual as it locates onto two pegs which can be rotated in a trapped slot locking the lid in place. A very pleasing piece, in perfect condition.
