A highly decorative Japanese bronze study of ceremonial elephant wearing a elaborate saddlecloth adorned with jewels and a superbly detailed relief dragon decoration with a Greek key pattern surrounding it. The elephant is carrying a two storey temple with a pagoda shaped roof with a dragon finial on the top.
This large and impressive bronze was made in Japan circa 1910 and is signed on the under side.
It is in good condition with a brown patina with lighter highlights.
