This very competently drawn portrait of a late 19th-century Arab gentleman wearing traditional costume is cleverly produced using only the minimum amount of colours on white paper capturing great detail and expression. Signed on the bottom right corner. Presented with a wash lined mount and walnut frame with a gilt slip. On the reverse is a label, originally from when it was exhibited at the Salon Tunisier with the signature, title and address displayed.
