A Superb Rudolstadt 19th Century German Porcelain Figure Group

This remarkably detailed fine porcelain figure group dates to the mid-19th century and was produced in the German porcelain factory Rudolstadt. It depicts an 18th-century composition of a finely dressed young couple. The man is a musician playing bagpipes and also has a string instrument at his feet. The beautiful young lady is sat with a book of sheet music on her lap while singing. This fine and delicate piece is beautifully hand-painted in rich colours, highlighted in gold. The group is raised onto a foliate and molded gilt white base. Marked on the underside with the 19th century Rudolstadt marked in blue. This piece is in good condition with no restoration. Circa 1860
