This remarkable English cabinet cup and saucer is made in the empire style popular in France and Europe in the early 19th century.
It is finely decorated with dark blue ground and fine gilding with panels of intricately painted flowers in a wicker basket. The cup has a shaped swans head handle and is standing on raised lions paw feet (minor old restoration to the claws).
