A superbly hand-carved pair of gothic revival English blonde oak candlesticks in the Pugin style intricately turned and hand-carved. The circular bases are decorated with a Wave and bead design flowing into tapered flutes with a hexagon-shaped collar above. The centre section is finely carved with a barley twist section terminating with a double stepped circular collar over which the upper section has two different bands of foliate carving. At the top, the candle holders are inset with brass liners, c 1860
