This superbly modeled bronze sculpture depicts a fox on the scent of a rabbit sitting in its burrow. It was produced by the acclaimed French artist Clovis Edmond Masson (1838 - 1913) who was trained by Antoine Louis Barye who both specialised in animalilar sculptures. Signed pieces are highly regarded by collectors.
This piece is cast in bronze with a mid-brown patina and is in good original condition.
