A Fine Doulton Lambeth Vase

This superb mallet shaped Doulton Lambeth vase is hand decorated in a very stylish design.
It is dated 1877 and has the artists initials A.E.G. Interestingly, this artist is recorded by the factory as a designer working in 1887-8 but with no record of his or her name.
This piece must be an early example as it is dated ten years earlier.
This vase is a high quality piece with a hand inscribed design and applied raised and moulded decoration which are hand painted and glazed in rich colours.
