A Chinese bronze Censer and cover of a plain design standing on three feet which flow from the body. Above is a lid with bat form piercings and a central finial in the form of a mythical beast which is hollow with an opening at the mouth , when in use,for the scented smoke to fill the air with nice aromas. This restrained piece has very fine engraved decoration all over depicting dragons and beasts with a temple, water and clouds. To each side there is a lifting slot to insert a handle when hot.
