This highly decorative late 19th century Raj period Indian wall charger is all completely hand worked from a sheet of heavy gauge copper. The complicated process in the manufacture of this beautiful piece of Indian art includes cutting, shaping, raising, engraving, chasing and piercing. Made to a circular design with a raised and scalloped edge with an inner pierced surround, the lower circular centre has three different boarders around it edge and an intricate continuous design fills the centre of this large charger.  All of the decoration on this piece is floral with flower heads and leafy stems and foliate boarders throughout. A most impressive piece, in very good condition and a good dark brown patination.
