This remarkable painting depicts with almost photographic detail a setting with a period country elm table set with a pleasing display of grapes together with water droplets. There is an orange resting on a 18^th century shaped plate with red foliate decoration and behind  there is an early stemmed glass with remaining spirt together with a 19^th century German pottery ewer decorated in beige, brown and dark blue with a scrolling design over a crackled ground. Resting in front is a Victorian carved ivory handled knife with a small group of grapes alongside. The fine workmanship of the artist and there attention to detail is brilliant. Signed in the top left hand corner, C.B Curam and also on the canvas stretcher with the date 1968.
